OUR STORY

Built to Last Since 2009

4Balance Fitness was founded by Michael Cole in 2009 with a straightforward belief: great training isn't about hype — it's about principles, consistency, and a plan built for the person in front of you.

What began as a group fitness studio evolved over the years into a private, all-inclusive personal training facility. When the pandemic forced the industry to adapt, Michael and his wife Allison used the moment to rebuild from the ground up — creating the focused, results-driven studio that exists today.

Now operating from our new facility at 807 Holland Rd in Simpsonville, SC — and serving as the official strength and conditioning partner of The Vault Baseball Training — 4Balance Fitness continues to deliver the personalized, science-based coaching that's helped over 5,000 clients transform their lives across Upstate South Carolina.

Workout clothes, proper training shoes, and great energy. We've got the rest covered.

HYDRATION

Pre- and post-workout drinks plus a purified alkaline water refill station in the facility.

RECOVERY

Recline in compression boots or relax in the infrared sauna between sessions. Recovery is part of the plan.

Co-Owner

MICHAEL COLE

Michael Cole is the co-owner of 4Balance Fitness and a seasoned fitness professional known for blending real-world coaching with a strong scientific foundation. His work is built on the belief that great training is about principles, consistency, and a plan that matches the person in front of you.

Michael's coaching foundation began as a two-sport athlete in football and baseball, where he learned discipline, teamwork, and what it takes to perform under pressure. That performance mindset continued into his career as a professional wrestler, which refined his approach to preparation, recovery, and mental resilience.

Michael holds Bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science and Nutrition Science. He applies evidence-based training methods grounded in biomechanics, progressive overload, and intelligent progression. His programming is designed to be measurable, sustainable, and individualized — whether working with athletes pursuing performance or adults rebuilding strength and consistency.

Outside the gym, Michael enjoys time with his wife Allison, their family, and their ever-growing crew of pets.

ALLISON COLE

Allison Cole brings a rare blend of clinical perspective and real-world coaching — grounded in years of nursing experience and a deep belief that strength training and lifestyle habits can change the trajectory of someone's health.

Before fitness became her full-time mission, Allison spent years in nursing caring for patients and seeing firsthand how daily choices compound over time. That experience shaped her approach today: proactive, practical, and focused on building a body that functions better — not just looks different.

Allison is known for creating an environment where clients feel supported, challenged, and confident. She tailors training to the individual, whether the goal is weight loss, improved energy, better strength and mobility, or returning to fitness after time away.

Her style is clear, encouraging, and accountability-driven — with programs that meet people where they are and help them progress consistently.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

LUCY

Lucy has been part of the gym since 2016 and is our most popular team member. She greets everyone at the door (usually loudly), makes her rounds during sessions, and seems to know when someone needs an extra moment of encouragement. She's our unofficial mascot and a reminder that progress doesn't have to feel intimidating. Come say hi.

BALL RETRIEVAL SPECIALIST

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday joined the team in 2023 and made her priorities clear immediately: love Allison, chase the ball, and attempt to eat anything she's not supposed to. She brings playful energy that keeps the atmosphere light and is always ready for a nuzzle between sets. She's part sidekick, part morale booster, and fully convinced that Allison is the greatest person who has ever lived.
